My story

IMG_0034 (1).jpg

My story as an artist began as a little girl growing up in the hills of Southern Indiana. Surrounded by God’s beautiful creation and vibrant local artist communities, my love and passion for creating Watercolor art was cultivated from a very young age.  Seven-year-old me would sit and watch in admiration as my Dad, a talented portraitist and landscape artist, transformed blank pieces of paper into works of art.  It was mesmerizing, inspiring and invaluable.  I learned so much by watching and painting alongside him as a little girl in pigtails, and I've never stopped on my learning journey.  To this day, he remains one of my biggest inspirations and reasons for becoming a full-time Watercolor Artist.

The rolling hills, beautiful State Parks and peaceful nature preserves all throughout my Hoosier home of Southern Indiana never failed to provide endless inspiration as I grew up with the paintbrush in my hand, and I am forever grateful to God for giving me my Hoosier home as an environment that nurtured my love for painting. In addition to my Dad, Artists residing in and around the nationally recognized artist hub of Brown County, IN played a big part in encouraging me on my journey as an artist. Their knowledge, skill and experience as nationally recognized artists was motivational and inspirational to me, and I am so thankful for their generous hearts and the time they took to share pieces of their knowledge and artistic wisdom with me during my early years on my artistic journey.

My love for creating Watercolor Art and my personal relationship with God only grew stronger and deeper as I got older, and I found myself called to create art with the greater mission of bringing honor and glory to God, using Watercolor Fine Art as the platform on which to spread God’s light and love that I have experienced, and am still experiencing, in my own life to as many as possible.
